Case Study: Velocity Chess

VelocityChess is an online chess platform that makes it easy for people of all skill levels around the globe to play and compete with each other. Last summer, they hosted a senior studying IT and web design at Brooklyn’s Academy of Innovative Technology.

Jonathan Brody, Co-Founder / CEO of VelocityChess, had this to say about the intern's time with the company: “Hosting an intern was a valuable experience for our young company. We brought him in to help out in a number of areas – marketing, market research, social media and product testing. He was a quick learner and helped out in a number of areas. I’ve also enjoyed keeping in touch with him and advising him on career options.

While the student’s focus in school had been on computer repair, the internship gave the student a valuable chance to learn more about web design as well. “I still keep in touch with the student,” says Brody, “I am happy to have had the chance to become his friend and mentor.”
